Census participation is first step in preparing the current community

and for preparing whole Korean community for the next ten years.

Census is not only counting on US citizens, it is counting on everyone living in US.

Taxes will increase if you do not participate in Census.

Based on figures from New York, during 2000 Census, only 62% participated which classified New York as the state with the lowest participation in the Census. Due to this, New York City did not receive the support necessary from the federal government which led to direct increases in taxes, with clear examples of this in 2010 in the form of multiple MTA tax increases.

If either of your parents are Korean, then you can chose your ethnicity as Korean along with your other ethnicity.

All applicants which have roots from Korean lineage, despite their other ethnicity, should choose Korean on the Census questionnaire, along with their other ethnicities to ensure full representation.

Ensure the continuation of local senior services

Your participation in the Census helps maintain essential services to the senior citizens within your community. With the case of New York City, local services such as free lunch, language assistance, and senior centers. An accurate count will help bolster these services to their necessary capacities to serve the community.

Supporting Child Welfare

Accurate Census count is vital for the allocation of funds for essential child welfare programs, providing food and shelter for children less fortunate, giving them a chance at a bright future

The future of your children

The Census count will decide funding for public schools, after school programs, student assistance (free bus, free breakfast/free lunch), and directly affects the size of classrooms and integrity of teachers though population counts.

Protect the environment, beautify your community

Census numbers also provide funding for local parks and trees, the repairs for infrastructure such as public roads and highways, streetlights and street signs, and necessary accommodations for seniors and the disabled. This 10 question, 10 minute survey can save you money in the long run. Less funds means roads and highways in disrepair leading to higher instance of potholes and opportunities for accidents, thus leading to cost in repair and/or medical bills.

By US Federal Law, 2010 Census guarantees total and absolute security in your information.

Participation in the census is anonymous and does not require a social security number. Your information will only be used for the Census count and allocation of Federal funds.

All tenants and roommates must also fill out the survey.

For limited-English proficient applicants, language services will be provided at local religious institutions (churches, temples) and local community organizations to aid in the completion of this form.
